Community Involvement

With our unique community being able to offer those involved with the School a happy and caring environment to belong to, Birkenhead School’s common aim is to ensure our whole School community can continue to play an important role in the local community, as well as making a difference further afield.

We are proud to support a wide range of charities both within the local area, within the UK and overseas.

Charitable Support
We support a number of local and international charities and give our time, as well as raising funds to those close to us, as well as to those further afield who rely on the kindness and support of others.

Our students leave us appreciating the importance of giving back to those less fortunate and with strong, altruistic qualities.

Charities that we have worked with recently include:

Business Links
Our business links extend across the globe through our wide network of parents and alumni.

We are members of the Wirral Chamber of Commerce and and work closely with them to discuss and engage on issues affecting Wirral and Liverpool.

We access Wirral Chamber services for the benefit of our students and work collaboratively with them to offer a range of workshops and activities across different year groups.
Sports Links
We actively support local sports clubs through sponsorship and students playing as part of their sports team.

Local teams also hire out our facilities for their functions.
Art Links
We have close links with a range of variety of Arts and literary organisations and work has included:

  • Hosting ‘Inspiring Talks’ series in conjunction with Linghams Booksellers to bring local and national authors to the School.
  • Displaying student work in local galleries such as the Williamson Art Gallery and the Lady Lever Art Gallery
  • Being the home of the Wirral Symphonic Band since 2017
