Our Nursery provides year-round care for children from three months to three years old, at which point children transfer to our Pre-Prep.
Enquiries for admission to Nursery can be made at any point during the year. Admission to Nursery is open and there is no assessment for entry owing to the age of the children. However, an offer of a place cannot be made until we have met you and your child.
Following an enquiry about Nursery places, a tour of the Nursery is arranged with the Head of Early Years and prospective parents are asked to bring their child with them. This helps us understand the child's level of development and gives us an indication, even at this early stage, of academic potential (this being an important aspect of the subsequent transfer to our Prep School, which is academically selective). It may be necessary on some occasions to invite families for a second visit before a decision can be made regarding the offer of a place. Before an offer can be made, the Head of Early Years must be satisfied that the Nursery will be able to establish and shape learning experiences for each child's individual needs, so as to ensure successful transition to the Pre-Prep and ultimately to the Prep.
When we feel certain that your child will flourish and settle in our Nursery, we will offer a place for entry. Once they have received the offer, parents should reserve their place by completing and returning the Reservation Form together with the Reservation Fee of £300. The Reservation Fee is refundable on the completion of their child's education at School.
Offers must be accepted within two weeks of issue. Following reservation of your child's place, the Bursar will issue contracts and further information immediately. Completed contracts should be returned within two weeks prior to the start date.
All Nursery fees are inclusive of nappies, changing-products and formula milk for babies up to one year of age. Children receive all meals on each full day's attendance. The minimum number of sessions is two half-day sessions per week. Nursery is open from Monday to Friday for fifty weeks of the year, closing for a two week Christmas break and public holidays.
Entry to the Pre-Prep is seen as a natural progression for children in the Nursery. Entry to the Pre-Prep can be considered at the beginning of the term following your child's third birthday (i.e. in September, January and April). There is no formal assessment for entry to Pre-Prep, however we invite children to visit the setting with their parents. During this vist, we will observe your child at play and how they interact with teachers and other children.
