We recognise that exam success is only a small part of the story. Our co-curricular activities are designed both to complement and to extend learning in the classroom, through an enriching programme of activities that stretch both mind and imagination.
Learning in our Sixth Form is about so much more than the subjects chosen to study. Away from their studies, we offer students an extensive programme of co-curricular activities, ranging from sports to science clubs, all of which are open to them from their very first day.
In addition, our Sixth Form students have the opportunity to take part in our ‘Beyond the Curriculum’ workshops, specifically designed to broaden students' experience, including a range of interest courses. In recent years, these have included politics, philosophy, law, film-making, fashion design, Dutch, Mandarin, Russian, Italian, singing and much more.
To stimulate imaginations further, we organise a weekly lecture series featuring guest speakers from business, industry, leading professionals, university lecturers, explorers and adventurers, documentary makers, and field specialists - some drawn from our own alumni, The Old Birkonians.
