Our Digital Leaders have been doing a fantastic job in assisting with all things ICT across the whole of Prep.

Chosen from around 30 applicants across Years 5 and 6, the application involved writing a letter to say why they would make a good Digital Leader. They needed to be passionate about ICT/computing in general and be able to communicate with pupils and teachers effectively and be organised and responsible.

Those chosen at this stage of the process then had to design their very own game on Purple Mash, “an award-winning website for nursery and primary school children. It enables children to explore and enhance their knowledge in a fun and creative way.” It was following this task that the eight Digital Leaders were chosen and they’ve been kept very busy ever since. Activities have included:

  • Assisting teachers in ICT lessons across Prep
  • Transporting iPads to lessons for teachers
  • Running ICT clubs at lunchtimes for younger pupils (Y1-Y4). They decided a theme for the club based around coding/programming
  • Helping classmates when trying new technology in School
  • Running a workshop on Open Day, showcasing their skills and chatting to prospective parents about ICT at the School.
