Our Nature Club has been working hard over the past academic year on their beautiful garden and wildlife areas in the School and their hard work has paid off, as they've been awarded the RHS School Garden Level 1 award from the Royal Horticultural Society.

In order for them to achieve this award they had to show that they had met certain criteria and could answer yes to the following atatements:

  • We understand the benefits of gardening to children and young people
  • A person has been chosen to lead the gardening project/activity
  • An area has been identified for a gardening project/activity
  • We have planned the area and are looking at resources we might need
  • We understand hazards in the garden
As part of their evidence, they also talked about making their Bug Hotel and how it would encourage wildlife into the School area. They also discussed planning their sensory garden and what plants would work well in order to meet all five senses.

Congratulations to all members of Nature Club on their hard work and we wish them the best of luck for achieving Level 2 in the coming academic year.
