Scholarships and Bursaries

No parent with a child of suitable ability who would benefit from an education at Birkenhead School should be dissuaded from applying for a place on grounds of costs.

Bursaries are awarded to help pupils take up or retain a place at the School where their parents or guardian cannot pay full fees. All bursaries are means-tested and may cover up to 100% of the full fee. It is unusual for very young pupils to be awarded bursaries as  assessment of their potential has to be established before a bursary can be considered. In addition, the School offers Scholarships for entry into Year 7 in recognition of exceptional academic potential.

The award of a Scholarship does not preclude the award of a Bursary.
