Great emphasis is placed on the importance of physical resilience and robustness within our school sports programme. From the very first day students are invited to engage in sport and be ambitious in reaching their goals, regardless of level and ability.
In winter students play rugby, hockey, netball and lacrosse. And in summer cricket, athletics, tennis and rounders. Many of our students regularly achieve representative honours at county, national and international levels. In cricket our Under 12’s, 14’s and 15’s are current County Champions. In lacrosse we are the U15’s North of England champions, U13’s North of England runners up, and our seniors team reached the division play offs at the National Lacrosse Schools Championships.
Our students enjoy some of the best sports facilities in the region. We have our own cricket field with delightful 1st XI cricket ground at the heart of our campus, a 1st team rugby and junior cricket ground at McAllester Field, along with an astro strip providing nine tennis courts in summer and hockey and lacrosse pitches in winter.
Our acres of beautiful playing fields provide grass pitches for rugby, football and lacrosse. The Sports Hall houses a designated fitness suite, climbing wall, squash courts, badminton courts and cricket nets.
