Founded in the latter half of the nineteenth century,  for many years the School enjoyed an enviable reputation as the leading boys' school on the Wirral. In September 2000 the School became co-educational at Sixth Form level and since September 2008 has been co-educational throughout.

We pride ourselves on high academic standards, a full programme of extra curricular activities, and a wide range of sporting activity. Through this the School seeks to inculcate the key virtues of self-discipline, a sense of personal and social responsibility, and a positive outlook, so that our pupils can look forward with confidence to making a constructive contribution to tomorrow's world, whatever role they eventually adopt.
