For a while now, the School has been sponsoring a village in Tanzania called Msunjilile, or ‘Jilile’ for short. The Jilile team (Consisting of Matthew Norval, Robert Mathew-Jones, Ben Kirkham, Mark Kipling, Thomas Lamey, Thomas Bowhay, Ben Wills-Eve, Jaques Bonfrer, Thomas Hendry, Matthew Harper and Jonathan Roberts) has been working to raise money to buy a new water pump nearer to the village as at the moment villagers must walk five kilometres every day just to get clean water. We are also trying to raise money to improve the classrooms and resources in the school there. For the children, books, desks and chairs are a luxury. They sing and dance but many cannot read or write and even if they could there are no writing materials available to them.
Have a look around the pages of our website to find out more about the village, what we are doing to raise money and what events are coming up in the future.
