David O'Malley, Chairman of the Student Council writes:
'From
the 19th to the 23rd of November the School is taking part in
National Anti-Bullying Week with a series of activities to support this
very important event. Having discussed what to do for the week the
Student Council decided that raising awareness of the issue and some
money for charity was paramount. From Monday, pupils have been showing
their colours/support by wearing a piece of blue clothing (anything
ranging from hats to shirts to scarves to socks) along with their
uniform. Although certain teachers have been finding it hard to cope
with so many cases of incorrect dress, pupils have been having a
fantastic time finding something blue to wear (we aren't all Everton
supporters). We have also set up a book in the library which pupils and
staff can sign to show further support for this very worthwhile cause,
which we hope will be signed annually for years to come. At the end of
the week the school will finish with a non-uniform day to raise money
for the charity 'Childline' and further contribute to the great work of
this fantastic organisation.'
