A beautiful Sunday saw 3 cadets (and one lucky officer) soaring above the Formby countryside as part of the RAF Section Gliding introductory Course. Everyone had a chance to take control of the aircraft and experience the peace and quiet of hanging at 3000 feet, watching the world go by.Cadets Graham Williamson, Ben Attwood and Dan Thomson all got a taste for flying. Who knows, they may go on to a RAF Gliding Scholarship in a few years.
Being a weather-dependant activity, Sunday’s glorious conditions made up for a windswept and hailstormy November, when nobody even set foot outside. But then, only the brave deserve the fair!
