Four Upper Sixth students have received offers at Oxbridge. They are: Martin Ince, David Parkes, Ian Tam and Billy Woods.

Martin Ince is studying Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Maths at A2 level. He has been offered a place at St Hugh’s College, Oxford to read Medicine. He joined Birkenhead School in 2000 from Prenton Prep. School. He is currently an active member of the Science-in-the-Community Project group and a School Prefect. Out of school he enjoys playing the guitar in concerts, playing badminton and going for walks in the country.

David Parkes is studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A2 level. David has an offer from University College, Oxford to read Physics. He is a School Prefect, is overly punctual, and is also studying for Physics and Chemistry AEAs. Outside of his copious studies, he plays badminton, football and enjoys shooting some pool.

Ian Tam is studying Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths at A2 level. He has been offered a place at Girton College, Cambridge, to read Chemical Engineering. He is a Prefect and a member of the 1st XI hockey team. Ian also enjoys football and badminton.

Billy Woods is studying Maths, Further Maths, French and German at A2 level. He has been offered a place to read Mathematics at Selwyn College, Cambridge. In his time at the School Billy has achieved many awards including becoming the British Mind Sports Olympiad champion and winning the coveted ‘spellathon championships’. Outside of school Billy enjoys playing badminton and learning to play the guitar.
