Not the official derivation of the well-known adventure holiday company, but one that was quickly adopted by Year 6 during their week at PGL Caythorpe Court, in Lincolnshire. I almost said ‘sunny Lincolnshire’ but a glance at some of the photos will show there was a fair amount of morning mist about. However, we were blessed with fine afternoons, and rain did not intervene to stop play.
There was a lot of up and down involved, climbing and abseiling, high ropes and the thrilling giant swing all had a vertical component. Then there was the raft building, and inexplicably, the rafts always sank towards the end of the session… Fencing, shooting, orienteering, Aeroball, problem-solving, quad bikes, archery, ambush, and the sensory trail filled up the gaps between eating and sleeping, and there was always time for the obligatory kick around or an impromptu game of cricket.
Our PGL Group Leader, who rejoices in the name of Lala, was a dynamo of irrepressible energy, fortunately enough for Messrs Stockdale, Corran and Frowe, who were pretty much worn out by nightfall!
A great week, with a great bunch of kids!. Click on the photograph for a larger image
