The
9th annual Science Fair on March 2nd went with a bang, quite literally! During
the day, record-breaking numbers of students from all year groups presented
their experiments to pupils from more than a dozen primary schools across the
Wirral.
Members of the Prep, Overdale and School Science Clubs all had exhibits and as usual the exotic animals area was a big hit. The atmosphere in the Bushell Hall was great; loud music and bangs, with bright colours filling the air. One group emulated the alchemists of old by turning base metals into gold, or at least turning two pence pieces a golden colour! Another team amazed audiences by firing rockets high into the sky! Delighted primary school children raced around the Hall from one stand to another eager not to miss out on anything. Their faces lit up as they saw brightly coloured flames and sparks flash in front of their eyes.
One of the pupils from Poulton Primary School wrote afterwards:
“I enjoyed every bit of it” and “it was fun trying to throw pieces of paper into a bucket”.
As usual, the day was a great success and we are sure next year will be better yet – if that is possible! Congratulations to Mr Hayward and all on his team.
