The U15
Rugby team reached the national quarter final of the Daily Mail U15 Rugby
Competition. This was the first time one of our School rugby teams had reached
this stage of the national competition. Some outstanding performances in
previous rounds (to read the Daily Mail report
click here) left the team only two games away from walking out at Twickenham
in April.
The quarter final was to be played at Noctorum Field against Oundle School, one of the top rugby playing boarding Schools in the country. To give the team all the support we could muster Mr Clark agreed to let all pupils and staff in the senior School walk down to Noctorum to watch the match and give support to the team. It was a glorious sunny day and the team performed extremely well against a much stronger and fitter Oundle side, unfortunately losing 20-34 on the day. It was disappointing to lose but to get so far in the competition was a huge achievement for the team. To read articles written in the local and national press click here and here
