Perfect Pitch
On Saturday 18th June 2011, Vasily Petrenko conducts the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at Birkenhead School.
Approximate timing for the evening is:
5pm Gates open
6.30pm Home-grown programme, including the School’s Big Band
8.15pm Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Vasily Petrenko
The programme will include:
- Gustav Holst ~ Jupiter from The Planets Suite
- Other orchestral favourites and a few surprises...
- Guest soloist Kathryn Rudge, mezzo soprano singing well-known songs and arias
- Guest Presenter for the evening will be Roger Phillips from BBC Radio Merseyside

10.30pm the School's 150th Anniversary Grand Firework Finale to The Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture
Bring your own seating – deckchairs, rugs etc. You are welcome to bring a picnic but SORRY NO BARBEQUES. A variety of refreshments will be on sale at the concert. In the event of rain, we politely request that you do not use umbrellas because these will impede the view of others in the audience.
