A real cause for celebration

A real cause for celebration

It has been a long road to recovery for Chris Halliday in the Upper Sixth, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia three and half years ago.  Since then Chris has had to endure the gruelling sessions of chemotherapy and frequent and intense courses of drugs at Alder Hey Hospital.

Despite constantly feeling sick, Chris did his best to ensure he didn’t miss out on School.  There were days when he just wasn’t up to it but the times when he didn’t feel as rotten, he came into School and just got on with it.

Chris had his final session of chemotherapy on 22nd September.  Although he will be closely monitored  until he is 22, the treatment is finished and his School friends and teachers celebrated this greatest of  milestone the very next day with a cake for a ‘star’!
