Visit to Hadrian's Wall

Visit to Hadrian's Wall

Latin Year 8 & 10 Students visit Hadrian’s Wall.

The Wall was a Roman frontier built in the years AD 122-30 by order of Emperor Hadrian. The purpose of the trip was to give pupils a chance to discover at first hand the impact of Roman occupation in Britain and the Roman army, as studied in the Cambridge Latin Course III.

We visited a range of Roman sites, such as Vindolanda, Housesteads Roman Fort, Corbridge Roman Town and Museum, The Roman Army Museum, as well as taking part in the annual Roman re-enactment event performed by Legio XX Valeria Victrix at Birdoswald Roman Fort.
