Welly Road gets the boot in!

Overdale pupils took part in a mass planting of spring bulbs using cast off Wellington boots as plant pots.  The project is the brainchild of local artist Alison Bailey Smith and is designed to bring the residents and businesses of Wellington Road and surrounding roads together in greater community awareness.  Alison managed to get funding for the project from the local authority and several ‘green’ organisations.  The many hundreds of flowering (hopefully!) wellingtons will be put on display at ‘Oxton Secret Gardens’ in May and continue to brighten our environment through the coming summer months Check out http://wellyroad.blogspot.com/
