As students mature, they progress from Overdale to Year 9, where the challenge of GCSEs lies ahead.
In Year 9, studies continue in the majority of subjects taught through Overdale whilst students are encouraged to take more responsibility for their own learning by opting for four elective subjects. As students progress through the year, GCSE options are discussed and chosen for study through Years 10 and 11.
Year 10 sees the start of the GCSE studies, and each student follows their own individual curricular pathway with their elected courses and this continues into Year 11. Students are nurtured and supported throughout their time studying for the public examinations, and, of course, the full range of sport, music and other co-curricular opportunities is also available.

In addition, our ‘Beyond the Curriculum’ menu offers a varied range of courses which have in recent years included cookery, drama, maths support, philosophy, a Sports Leaders award and vocational ICT.
