This week, the Reception children and staff went on an adventure to Chester Zoo. The children had a fantastic time taking part in the 'Curious Creatures' workshop, there was also an opportunity for an exciting exploration of the zoo!

The 'Curious Creatures’ session took place in the learning centre.  During the workshop children were given the opportunity to look at various objects and identify which animal they belong to. Then the classes had to sort animals into big, fast, underwater, colourful or nocturnal categories.

The workshops are specially designed by the zoo to develop the children's ability to use their observations and ideas to suggest answers to questions, and also describe and compare the structure of a variety of common animals (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, including pets.)
