Congratulations to the eight pupils who were elected to represent their classmates and will form the Prep Student Council for this School year.

We were really delighted to see so many Pupils have the courage to run for Prep Student Council. Two council members were elected from each year group, from Years 3-6, by fellow Prep pupils, following powerful campaign speeches.
Congratulations to the eight pupils who were elected to represent their classmates and will form the Prep Student Council for this School year.
The Prep Student Council will meet each month with Mr Halpin to express the student voice.
The aim of the Prep Student Council is to provide a meaningful way in which pupils can voice their opinions and have their views taken into account in decisions which impact upon them.
The key benefits of electing a Prep Student Council are:
- Pupils participate in a democratic process.
- Freedom to express their opinions in an open forum.
- They represent their year groups on relevant issues.
- Learn debating skills and how meetings operate.
Some of the winning manifestos ideas included: listen to everyone’s ideas and present them in the council meetings, to have more opportunities to vote, to help the environment by introducing 2-minute litter pickups, to reduce plastic usage and to have gardening opportunities.
They are eager to make a positive start as Council members and look forward to representing the expectant Prep electorate.
