Many thanks to Mr Corran for organising this excellent tour, to all accompanying staff, as well as to pupils involved, who embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly”

Saturday 1st
Cheshire and Merseyside Interschool Orienteering competition at Formby:
This was the final competition in the senior school orienteering league.  The final team league position and individual league positions are still to be announced.  All of the team performed well, with everyone completing their courses in a good time with no check points missed.  There were notable performances from Storm Woodward, who won the yellow course and Aden Husseyn, who came 6th on the very challenging light green course.

Girls 1st XII Lacrosse National Schools Tournament:

The team and support staff travelled down on the Friday in preparation of the event. We woke to the news that Saturday's play had been cancelled because of waterlogged pitches, but Sunday was still planning to go ahead. The team made the most of the situation they enjoyed a training session, cinema trip and evening meal together, before getting an early night. With no Saturday, group matches the competition organisers used last year’s results, placing us in division two for the morning group games with the possibility of afternoon knock out games. Ms Jones, Ms Walsh and Mr Fowles want to commend the team, with the constant changes and uncertainty they always had a sunny disposition and where a pleasure to be with. The girls reached the quarterfinals, losing one, winning two games and drawing one. It was cruel to not progress to the semis after a draw, not progressing on goal difference. Please give the team a big round of applause and congratulate them and our MVP of the tournament, Ellie Simpson!
