By Millie – Year 7

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. We learned a great deal and had a great time. As we got off the bus we started to walk along by the sea on a raised path, the view was scary, but at the same time an amazing view of Liverpool!

We then walked around Birkenhead and learnt about the slave trade, The Great War and the Priory. When we arrived at Birkenhead Priory, after a walk by the quayside, the view was amazing.  It almost felt like there was some sort of hidden magic at this, the oldest building on Merseyside.

We learned about the Priory in detail, including about its founder Hamo de Massey. We then walked to the war memorial at Hamilton Square, and we sat there in respect and learnt about brave men who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. After that we strolled back to the bus, excited for our trip to Liverpool!

When we got to Liverpool, we walked to the museum, then we sat on a long bench and were told that we would be working in groups to fill out a timeline about the history of the city.  I went in a group with Ottilie and Bonnie and we started from the top and worked our way to the bottom! We found a lot of good information, and a lot of things that we never knew happened, let alone in Liverpool!

I liked the idea that we were trusted and were given responsibility to discover information for ourselves and I think that this was a good learning curve for us.

I would recommend this trip!
