We were delighted to welcome children's author, Anna James, to Birkenhead School recently. Anna is the author of the children's book series 'Pages & Co' which follows the magical, book wandering adventures of Tilly.
Anna delivered an exciting and engaging talk, during which children in Years 5 and 6, enjoyed being taken on a journey around the world and making up their own stories - which much fun and amusement! Anna spoke to the children about how she draws inspiration for her stories from her travels around the globe and shared photos of her travels as well as interesting facts including:
- did you know that the Tikkurila Library has a karaoke booth installed
- the smallest book 'Old King Cole' measures just 1/25"x1/25" and can be found in the Library of Congress, located in Washington, US
- the Osmotheque in Versailles (France) is the world's largest scent archive
She encouraged the children to be like magpies and always be on the look out for the 'hidden stories' as they may be hiding anywhere and everywhere and finished the talk by saying to the children that 'Imagination is Magic'.
