Outdoor Play is an important part of life in Pre-Prep, with children benefitting from access to the School’s Outdoor Classroom and Forest School.
The outdoor area gives children opportunities for imagination, inventiveness and resourcefulness within a safe and secure environment.
What is Forest School?
Forest School is a separate, enclosed area within the School grounds and sessions are led by our Pre-Prep Forest School leads. Children within the Pre-Prep take part in Forest School as part of their learning journey at the School.
Forest Schools is an innovative approach to learning utilising the natural environment to present learning opportunities and challenges. Through regular exposure to the natural environment in Forest Schools, children develop a wide range of skills, attributes and personal qualities that foster more independent, resilient and motivated learners.
Each session is tailored to meet the needs of the individual children taking part, ensuring that there is progression and development as each child grows in confidence, skill and understanding.
Every Forest School session is different, dependent on the children accessing the site and also the season or weather, and the activities differ accordingly.
