No parent with a child of suitable ability who would benefit from an education at Birkenhead School should be dissuaded from applying for a place on grounds of costs.
Bursaries are awarded to help students take up or retain a place at the School where their parents or guardian cannot pay full fees. All Bursaries are means-tested and may cover up to 100% of the full fee.
It is unusual for very young students to be awarded bursaries as assessment of their potential has to be established before a Bursary can be considered. In addition, the School offers Scholarships for entry into Year 7 in recognition of exceptional academic potential.
The award of a Scholarship does not preclude the award of a Bursary.
More information, including how to apply, is available from Mrs Roberts, PA to the Headmaster.
