The Duke of Edinburgh Award is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading youth development programmes.
All Year 10 students are encouraged to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award scheme.
The Bronze Award scheme recognises achievement in four different areas:
Volunteering | This involves a period of service to the community |
Physical Recreation | This involves developing an existing talent or trying something new |
Physical Recreation | This involves developing physical fitness through sport, dance or fitness training |
Expedition | This involves planning, training for, and completing an adventurous journey |
All Year 10 students take part in a school expedition, whether or not they decide to take part in the full Bronze Award. This consists of a two day walk in the Clywydian Hills including an overnight camp. Those who opt to do the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award can use this expedition to quality for the expedition section of the Award.
