Families interested in joining Birkenhead School in the future are encouraged to attend our Whole School Open Day in May 2027, particularly those with children currently in Year 4 or Year 5, as this is an ideal opportunity to explore the School, meet our staff and students, and begin planning for future entry.

Discover what sets Birkenhead School Sixth Form apart and why so many students choose to continue their journey with us or join us for this important stage of their education.
Throughout the evening, you’ll hear from our Head of Sixth Form, current students and parents, gaining first-hand insight into life in the Sixth Form and the opportunities available beyond the classroom. You’ll also have the chance to explore our specialist information areas, covering university and career preparation, apprenticeships, leadership and enrichment, specialist pathways including Medicine and Engineering, sport, music, drama and much more.
The evening is designed to answer one key question: Why Birkenhead School Sixth Form? You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how our Sixth Form prepares students for success at university, in apprenticeships and in their future careers, while helping them grow into confident, capable and ambitious young adults.
Please note that A Level subject information will be explored in detail at our dedicated Sixth Form Options Evening in the Lent Term, enabling students to make informed subject choices following their mock examinations.

Pre-Prep Entry: 24 places are available in our Pre-School setting that is the starting point for children to join Birkenhead School.
Reception Entry: a limited number of places may be available each year to join our Reception class
Year 3 Entry: additional places become available for children looking to join Juniors
Year 5 Entry: additional places become available for children looking to join Prep ahead of moving into Seniors.
