The Curriculum

Sunday Times Schools Guide 2025 - Independent Secondary School of the Year North West

Personalised Learning and Small Class Sizes

Our A Level programme offers exceptional breadth, incorporating a wide range of subjects highly favoured by Russell Group universities. This diverse curriculum equips students with the academic rigor and flexibility needed to pursue their aspirations in higher education and beyond. Additionally, students have the option to complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which enhances their university applications by demonstrating research skills, critical thinking, and independent learning — qualities that are increasingly sought by competitive institutions.

In our Sixth Form, teachers are dedicated to providing a highly personalised learning experience. With small class sizes and a tutorial-style approach, teachers can focus on each student’s unique strengths and talents, tailoring lessons to optimise individual growth. This co-educational, collaborative environment not only fosters strong academic foundations but also provides excellent preparation for the demands of university studies and independent learning.

One of the greatest attributes of our Sixth Form provision is the diversity of routes that our students take post exams. Students are encouraged to follow their passions, offering strong support and guidance as they explore their chosen fields. Whether their interests lie in Fine Art, Choral Singing, Mathematics, or a degree apprenticeship, our students are empowered to chase their ambitions and build meaningful, fulfilling futures.
