University Support

The School has a long tradition of supporting students into Oxbridge and prestigious universities, both with the UK and further afield, to read subjects ranging from dentistry and veterinary science to music, architecture and politics.

We offer outstanding support and preparation for Higher Education which includes help and support on the options available, help with personal statements and the application process.

Advanced Tutorial Groups

Advanced Tutorial Groups are set up to help students prepare for the most competitive university courses at the UK’s top tier of universities, including the 1994 Group or Russell Group universities.

The groups meet weekly and students are encouraged to lead discussion on a range of current and thought-provoking topics.

University Preparation and Guidance

A number of events are held for Year 12 students in the Summer Term, all of which are designed to support them as they prepare to submit their higher education applications.

A Higher Education Information Evening takes place to introduce parents and students to the application process.

University visits are also organised for students.  For potential Oxbridge students, a visit is organised to the University of Oxford, followed by one at the University of Cambridge. For these visits, accommodation is booked at one of the colleges at each university.

Interviews

During the Lower Sixth, all students will be interviewed individually by our Head of Careers or UCAS Co-ordinator, who will advise them on specific aspects of their applications.

In addition, we have an extensive list of external contacts in every field, on whom we can draw for interview practice.  This gives our students a unique opportunity to develop and hone their skills in as realistic a context as possible.
