Birkenhead School has been named Independent Secondary School of the Year in the North West by The Sunday Times. The award was announced in the 32nd edition of The Sunday Times ‘Parent Power Guide’. The prestigious guide highlights the highest-achieving schools nationwide, assessing them on a range of criteria, including GCSE and A-Level performance.

Widely regarded as the authoritative survey of the UK’s top schools, Parent Power serves as the definitive ranking of primary and secondary state and independent schools. The School has achieved an outstanding position ranking 81st among the top independent schools nationally, with 67th place for GCSE results and 101st for A-Level performance.

It is perhaps apt that announcement of this award comes at the end of a run of sold-out performances of Treasure Island, itself following on the back of recent regional rugby and debating successes.
