Birkonian Week 2025

Birkonian Week 2025: A Celebration of Achievement, Talent, and Community

Birkonian Week 2025 was a truly memorable celebration of all that makes Birkenhead School so special — a week filled with talent, recognition, and heartfelt moments as we drew the academic year to a close.

The week began with our Arts Awards, honouring exceptional creativity and dedication across Music, Drama, English, Art, and Design & Technology. It was a wonderful evening showcasing the diverse talents of our students.

Next came the Sports Awards, where families joined us to celebrate the determination and teamwork shown by our student athletes. Highlights included Player of the Year and Coaches’ Awards, as well as inspiring reflections from team captains. We also proudly welcomed our newly appointed Sports Captains for 2025–26.

Our Summer Concert in Bushell Hall brought musical magic to the stage, featuring students from across the School. The evening was made even more poignant as we bid a fond farewell to Mr Robinson, Director of Music, whose contribution over the years received a standing ovation from the audience.

Prep Prize Giving followed, with pupils recognised for excellence across all areas of school life. Families gathered under the marquee, inspired by a heart-warming address from guest speaker Sue Higginson OBE DL, who drew on the wisdom of Winnie the Pooh in her uplifting message.

The week concluded with our Seniors Prize-Giving Ceremony, a celebration of academic success, leadership, and growth. Thoughtful speeches, musical performances, and the announcement of our new Heads of School made for a moving and celebratory finale. Sixth Form leavers received a guard of honour before joining families for a sun-soaked farewell reception on the school field.

From start to finish, Birkonian Week was a joyous reminder of the strength of our school community and the incredible accomplishments of our students.
