Futuroscope – France 2025

Years 7–9 Enjoy STEM-Powered Adventure at Futuroscope, France

As part of our ongoing programme of alternating trips for younger and older year groups, it was the turn of our Year 7–9 students to embark on an exciting international adventure. This year’s destination: the extraordinary, science-themed world of Futuroscope in France.

Futuroscope, a theme park where every attraction has a science, technology, or innovation twist, offered students a wealth of immersive experiences. From dancing with robots to soaring on futuristic balloon rides, pupils explored a host of activities enhanced by cutting-edge AI and virtual reality. A particular highlight was the spectacular evening light show, during which water vapour became the canvas for a beautifully told visual story.

Staying on-site at the Futuroscope Hotel meant the group could enjoy the full magic of the park, including fireworks displays and exclusive early-morning access—allowing them to skip the queues and make the most of each day.

The trip proved to be not only fun-filled but also hugely enriching. Students strengthened existing friendships, formed new ones, and developed greater independence and resilience—especially when navigating the surprisingly thorough security of one of the smallest airports many staff had encountered!

Student behaviour throughout the journey was exemplary. In fact, Mr Vicars was delighted to receive an email from fellow travellers who had initially been apprehensive about sharing a flight with a school group, only to express their appreciation for the students’ politeness and conduct.

All in all, it was a fantastic trip that combined STEM discovery with adventure, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.
