Birkenhead School are pleased to announce the launch of Sixth Form Sports Access Scholarships. For a number of years, the School’s alumni have generously funded up to 25% fees for Sixth Form students of outstanding academic pedigree who have not previously studied at an independent school.
As part of a School-wide review of wider scholarship provision ready for a full relaunch for the 2027-28 academic year, the School is expanding the reach of the Access Scholarship programme, beginning with Access Scholarships for Sporting Excellence in time for entry into the School’s Sixth Form for September 2026.
We are welcoming applications from external Year 11 students who have already achieved a regional or national level of representational excellence within any of the following sports: Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Lacrosse. Birkenhead School Sports Scholars will be known by their values, commitment and ability to inspire younger students, as much as their ability. In short, they are role models to those aspiring to play for the School and representative teams.
