Choosing a sixth form that offers opportunities beyond the curriculum and an outlook that goes beyond academic grades, can greatly influence a student’s future success when they leave after A Levels.
We welcome you to come and visit us to find out what we can offer at sixth form and what difference an independent education can make at this stage of your son or daughter’s education.
Enquiries
We welcome enquiries for places to join Sixth Form throughout the year and encourage early application to join Year 12.
Open Events
Students and families are invited to visit the School at one of our Open Events which are held in the Michaelmas and Summer terms. We also hold a Sixth Form Open Evening in February.
Our Open Events are an excellent opportunity to speak to staff and students about the wide range of opportunities available at the School and see what sets the School apart from other sixth form providers within the area.
Personalised Visit
We also warmly invite you to visit the School and meet with Mr Vicars, Headmaster and Ms Smeaton, Head of Sixth Form. During the visit you will be given a tour of the Sixth Form with a member of the Prefect team. Visits and tours are available throughout the year.

Taster Days are available throughout the year and are tailored for each individual student. The day offers an excellent opportunity to experience life in the Sixth Form, meet other students and confirm subject choices. During the day, interviews will take place with Mr Vicars, Headmaster and Ms Smeaton, Head of Sixth Form.
An application can be submitted following the Taster Day.

Entry Criteria
Academic ability is assessed at age 16 by means of GCSE results, an interview and references from the applicant's secondary schools.
The main entry to the Sixth Form is at age 16, following on from GCSE studies. Entry may be available at other times but is subject to places being available and a student meeting the relevant entry criteria for their chosen subjects.
Entry Criteria:
- A minimum of six GCSE passes (grade 5 or above)
- A minimum of grade 7 at GCSE in subjects that a student wishes to study at A level.
A grade 6 may be considered if the applicant has shown a particular commitment and aptitude to succeed in the subject area.
In the case of subjects which have not been taken at GCSE, other relevant subjects will be taken into account.
