The Start of Something Special

Welcome to Reception at Birkenhead School.

A warm and nurturing environment where children can grow and flourish. Your investment in your child’s education at an early age allows highly dedicated teachers who take the time to get to know your child in smaller class settings and add value to your child’s potential and academic achievements through a curriculum that goes beyond that offered in other schools.

Clubs & Activities

Clubs & Activities

Our lunchtime and after-school clubs (up until 5.00pm) are one of the many things on offer to excite and inspire the children! We want every child to have the opportunity to try a wide range of activities and learn new skills so that they can find their niche or passion.

In Reception, there are clubs such as Squirrels, Ballet, Art & Crafts Club, MIMIC, and Construction Club – there’s something for everyone!

The majority of clubs are available at no extra cost to parents and parents find that the clubs available allow children to develop interests and activities within the School day, saving additional time and cost in the evenings and at weekends.

Nature Explorers

Nature Explorers

Outdoor Learning plays an important role within the education offered at the School.  There is an ever-increasing amount of research that highlights the importance of children connecting with nature and spending time outdoors. By utilising the natural environment and providing some inspiring places for outdoor work, we have been able to provide unique and meaningful learning opportunities for the children.

We recognise that busy parents need reliable support beyond the school day. Our wrap-around care—including Early Morning Drop-Off, Fun Club, and holiday activities— ensures that families have the flexibility they need.

Additionally, our extensive co-curricular programme offers children the chance to take part in a wide range of activities, such as Ballet, Squirrels, and music lessons, during the school day and helping to ease the extra demands on parents in the evenings and at weekends.
